2023 Programs

Decorate the Old Town Hall                          Join us Wed. Dec. 6 9:30am-12 noon         Bring your secateurs and join the fun!

Next Meeting:  Tues. January 16  7:30pm       "Gardening for Birds" with Dr. Gregor Beck.  This meeting is via ZOOM.  Link      will be sent 1 week prior to meeting.

Meetings

In-Person Meetings are held at the Ancaster Old Town Hall  (310 Wilson St. E. Ancaster) on the third Tuesday of each month, with the exception of July, August and December.

There is no charge to attend a meeting.
Guests are welcome!

Trillium Awards

The Ancaster Trillium Awards program promotes community pride by recognizing residents who, by landscaping and maintaining their property, contribute to a more attractive community.

Each year volunteer judges from the Society choose 125 of the most beautiful nominated front properties for an award. 

2023 Diamond Award Winners

We are proud to announce that there are 6 winners of the Diamond Trillium Award for 2023.  The Diamond Trillium Award is given for 15 years of award-winning front gardens.

Congratulations to all of the Trillium Award winners. 125 Ancaster Trillium Awards were presented at the ceremony Tues. August 15th.

How to Nominate

Trilliums are awarded in 3 classes:

  • Single Residential
  • Townhouse
  • Commercial

People can enter their own property and those of friends and neighbours in Ancaster.

Nominations for 2023 are NOW CLOSED.

How are properties judged?

  • Overall first impression
  • Landscape design & colour
  • Landscape maintenance

The Ancaster Trillium Awards program is made possible because of volunteers who contribute their personal time to judge properties in the Town of Ancaster. The judges are members of the Society with an appreciation of horticulture and gardening. Members of the community are welcomed into the Society.

Ceremony

Annual Trillium Awards ceremony took place Tuesday August 15, 2023.

If you have not picked up your Trillium Award, Awards will be available for pick up on the dates below at the Ancaster Old Town Hall at 310 Wilson St. East.

Tues. Sept. 19 at 7:30pm  OR

Tues. Oct. 17 at 7:30pm

We welcome you to join our meeting as a guest.

We have a huge variety both donated from members’ gardens and purchased from local growers.

We accept perennial donations each year in late April and early May.

Our Heritage Tomato Sale is now over.  Thank you to everyone who participated. We wish you happy growing and happy eating! 

All tomato seedlings are organic and locally grown for our sale.
